A long history of personal service

Camping Órgiva was established in the mid-1990s, when the Alpujarra was starting to attract diverse international visitors, drawn by its impressive landscape, mediterranean climate, and tranquillity. Situated just below the market town of Órgiva, with gorgeous views of the Contraviesa mountain, Lújar, to the south, the campsite offers a beautiful aspect, a welcome for all types of campers, and reasonable prices.

Camping Órgiva remains one of the longest-established registered campsites in this part of Granada area, with a favourable location near “the capital of La Alpujarra”, (Órgiva) and easily accessible by vehicle or bus.

The site has 51 generous pitches, mains electricity, WiFi, hot showers, facilities block, reception area, and a popular on-site restaurant with a shaded terrace that serves food and drinks and a ‘menu del dia’ (fixed menu) on weekdays.

The location of Camping Órgiva offers easy access to Órgiva town, the Contraviesa, the white villages of the Alpujarra Alta, and the Costa Tropical. It is well-placed for visitors wanting to explore La Alpujarra or stop en route to the Sierra Nevada or the Costa.

Ideal for motorhomes

Unlike trying to park your motorhome in a dusty gully (not strictly legal in Spain!), the well-maintained campsite has all the faciliies you need. Full of pretty flowers and grassy areas, it has well-maintained facilities – such as a zone for discharging grey water, clean showers, a laundry room, fridge, microwave, and picnic tables. and barbecues.  The pool is open until September and offers sun loungers and a kiosk selling refreshments.

The cost of a motorhome pitch is around 25e a night with discounts for longer stays, with a month’s stay providing a 50% discount.

If you want to bring your dog, they are allowed on site, with a small charge of 2.50e a day per pitch and 5e per bungalow. There are no rules about tethering Fido, but he must be kept under control.

Walking routes and activities

Camping Órgiva is ideal for cyclists and walkers. It is a 25min walk to Orgiva and is also conveniently near to hiking routes – such as those under the nearby Seven Eye Bridge (a local landmark), the Centenary Olive walk, and many other paths you can explore. You are spolit for choice, whether you want to relax beside the pool or be more active. The area also has horse riding centres and local classes such as Yoga. There are many interesting workshops nearby.

Visit Órgiva and other places

In Órgiva, just up the road (a 5min drive), you can browse the local shops, the renowned Thursday market, the many bar/restaurants and the cultural events on offer. Órgiva has its main fiesta towards the end of September, which draws people from throughout the local area and is an example of Andalucian culture.
