Planeta Bass Festival takes over Granada’s Los Beremejales 19-20 Sept

The two-day “inaugural run” of the new Planeta Bass Festival will bring a range of bass music to Camping Los Bermejales, Arenas del Rey, Granada, on 19-20 September, 2025

CAMPING Los Beremejales – a popular campsite based at the scenic Arenas del Rey, near Granada – is hosting a two-day music festival focusing (mainly) on the genres of drum and bass, dub, reggae and breakbeat. These genres all have large followings in Andalucia. The promoters are renowned specialists from Orgiva, Granada, as well as the Axarquia in Málaga.

Camping Los Bermejales is no stranger to music events. The venue previously hosted the annual ‘Love Pirates’ – an event hailing from Órgiva’s alternative community, where “hearty” revellers “find their tribe”. The Planeta Bass Festival is aimed towards lovers of bass music, and is run by afficionados of bass music!

The festival will have a community vibe and attendees can access modern campsite amenities (so no disgusting long-drop toilets here!). Located on the banks of the impressive Los Bermejales reservoir, Camping Los Bermejales is just a few kilometers from Granada city. Immersed in nature, it has two swimming pools (adults’ and kids’), a restaurant with terrace, shower / facility blocks, and a sports field. The site offers accommodation options including bungalows, caravans, and grass or gravel pitches for tents, cars, vans, or motorhomes.

Soundsystem culture is behind the event

The Planeta Bass Festival is run by renowned local soundsytems, each of which have their own established following.

Dub Valle Hi‑Fi, founded in 2003 by Phil Vega in Órgiva, Granada, is a major part of the region’s reggae‑dub scene. The sound system grew significantly over the years, with co-promoter Daniel Dobson joining in 2010. Dub Valle has a powerful rig that is well-known in the area. The crew holds events throughout the Granada region, including Lanjarón, Órgiva, Los Guájares, Granada city, and La Herradura. Phil also DJs in UK dub clubs.

Dub Valle comments: “We are really looking forward to working with Planeta Bass Festival. We’ll be there with our full soundsystem of four hog scoops running the dub stage, with a large line-up of selectahs, MCs, and singers. Styles range from reggae roots to full power steppa.”

One Love Sound System, based in the Axarquia, has a strong following with the predominant styles of jungle, breakbeat, and drum and bass. DJ Organik has grown up with this music and he and brother Otis (also an accomplished DJ) have promoted various events, including large-scale raves in the Málaga region.

DJ Dez-R says: “For our debuting year, we have music for all ears and backgrounds. With three well experienced collectives behind us, there is no doubt that this will be a first year to remember. Come and have a wiggle and bilingual giggle with us!”

Hobbit Sounds, a highlight of Órgiva’s underground drum and bass scene, is also involved in the event, bringing its own energetic approach that is sure to get people going!

Dez-R, a drum and bass DJ from Órgiva, is one of the promoters of Planeta Bass Festival. Having leant to DJ a mere 2.5 years ago, he is now popular on the local scene.

Renowned local artist, Tansy Roake, will be running the ‘Cheeze and Ease’ stage, which will play a lighter musical selection.

There will also be some punk and live music for people who like a break from the bass.
